I spent the weekend being entirely productive! (and extremely lazy too...) I fixed my garage door, finally fixed my bike, made a really slutty dress into an adorable nice skirt, hemmed my pants, got my palm pilot to play mp3's, got it to connect to the wireless internet too, and and and...um sure much more important things....the only thing left to do is my research and homework (haha)...oh oh oh most importantly!

There's this shirt from Victoria Secrets I've wanted for years (literally like 3) and could never rationalize spending so much for it...then I realized hello! it's still there and i've wanted it for this long...what's $30??! (of course once I got online i ended up spending like 90....oh oh oh and you remember those shoes that the stupid airlines lost that i absolutely adored? my ginder rodgers shoes? I couldn't find them anywhere, and thanks to ebay i found them brand new and for only $26 including shipping....life is soooo good! (and i just bought $15 of candy for trick or treaters...and if none come, hmmm it's all mine!) now i'm off to make cupcakes. I love halloween! I'm watching hocus pocus and it's just the cutest movie and the first time i saw it was with aunt esther :) there's so many famous people in it!

Bottom line: i was extremely busy this weekend while practically never leaving bed, and bought the shirt and shoes that have been missing from my life. ahh my life is complete!

'One fine day....you'll look at meeee.' I love that song...i think the movie's just too cute too! So i've been watching more chick flicks than normal and listening to girl music...and getting entirelly idealistic. I like being single, i really do - i love the freedom with my schedule and i kinda like not being in the middle of a crush, because my mind is clear - i'm not thinking about a certain you-know-who constantly....and while i think it would be nice to be dating someone, it's not something i need right now in life.

This has only surfaced as a problem these last few days - the cute songs and movies make me feel like i'm missing something. Shedaisy's song 'every kiss, before this was nothing but a waste of breathe, and every i love you was just a whoop dee doo, never knew what i missed, before this' is so undeniably cute that it makes me want to run out and date....but only for a song! here in grad school about 1/2 of the semi-desirables are married and the rest are in relationships. i know i'm kinda young compared to them, but to have so many married!

We went dancing in austin last weekend (my friend from college station and a few from austin) and had an absolute blast. There were all these semi-cute guys with nice bodies that kept trying to dance with us...my friend resorted to pretending she had a wedding ring to get them away. Sometimes when you just want a girl's night, why are all guys so insistent that it shouldn't happen? I'm not saying i never want to dance with guys, but why doesn't 'no thanks' mean what it says? Is there something wrong with just wanting to dance with your friends or just be single? I know a good many americans are currently single, but my guess is that they hide in the woodworks, avoiding all the couple-y places.

Listen up world:  I'm single. Not only is that a choice I made (not something imposed on me), but I'm happy with my decision... so live with it!

So I took Lily to the vet because she's acting all quiet and it turns out she has a cold or pastuerella or something so i have to give her medicine 5 times a day....kinda screws with my schedule, ya know? Anyway this whole thing started because she started humping my dad while she was in heat when they were watching her for a few weeks (hence the pic)...anywho i called to get her a neutering appt and they asked if she was healthy. once we got there, they called her 'willie' all day....what genious would name a female willie??

Oh and this song is my fav ever: 'i wanna be a millionaire someday, and know what it feels like to give it away...march to the beat of my own drum' it rocks! self sings it 'stay home'

Recapitulate (which apparently means 'to sum up'): i have a sick bunny newly names willie.

so i was walking by this guy in a few of my classes that i had always seen sitting down - he was relatively cute, i mean for engineers i don't expect much. anyway, he was sooo short! he always looked so tall in class though - and i realized he had this ridiculously long body and short legs. then i remembered this other more cute guy with the same unproportional body shape...(i only mention him cuz he was pretty hot, just a crappy personality).

this was my shocker of the day...I never thought I had specific standards for whether a guy was cute or not....but my first one is that they must be as tall as me when i'm wearing my 3" heels...but why would it be so bad to be taller? i dunno....one of life's quandries - maybe i actually like short guys which is why my most serious relationship (haha) was in middle school when i was taller than everyone (hard to believe i know)...wierd.

bottom line: what i was thinking about while walking to class: short guys.

Ok, so I just went to our gym here, called the rec - it's unbelieveable....seriously there is a hot tub multiple pools/diving boards and a HUGE work out room - it's so exciting! plus there's the machine in the girls locker room that is specifically for drying bathing suits, how cool is that!? Oh and there like a running track and archery and a huge rock wall to climb...but for now i'm just enjoying the 10 lb weights and this cool thing you lean on to strengthen your back and side muscles....

Oh and i'm getting Lily Pad fixed in 2 weeks...apparently she was a little too excited to see my dad (the only male she ever is near)...i guess it's time for my baby to loose her spunk. :(

Bottom Line: oh just read it...it's short.

Austin was super fun! Manda took me to make-out point on top of a big mountain thingy facing a really cool lake with gorgeous houses....there were no hot boys at the top though, so I guess we'll go back some other time and check.

Then Kim and Manda and me all took a realllly long nap. It was so fun! I never nap! (like ever!) Then I went to PF Changs with a friend and she said I dressed like a slut....that was cool, cuz meanwhile we were sitting at a table where the girls there were wearing 1/2 the clothes i was! whatever....then i watched mean girls and the next day went shopping with my parents and saw ladder 49 and Lily Pad (the bunny) came everywhere with us....she's home again! I missed her :) Oh then sunday I fixed up my guest bedroom so you should definately come stay!

Long story short: austin fun, me sluty dresser, bunny back!

So Arizona was awesome! The only crappy part was it took 24 hours to get there b/c american and continental suck, but that's ok cuz i still got there and had wayyy too much fun and drank too much and spent too much money and had a total blast! Amber's bridal shower was sooo cute and I came to the revelation that although I think i'm a quiet person (I really do) it turns out I'm just shy, but extremely not quite once i get over the shyness....teh only way to find this out was to have every single one of my sistas laugh at me when i said it up there, oh well!

Since i got back i had 2 midterms, may be dropping out of grad school cuz it sux but I probably won't because i own a house there. So last night I went to Bellville with my friend Merilee and we rode horses on her ranch (and I remember how to ride and hold the reigns and trot correctly and everything!) and played with 2 1/2 week old kittens and i saw a gopher get killed after trying to attack my huge horse then went to a fair and ate cotten candy and frito pie and slushi and 2 beers (even though I hate beer)....mmm oh and a bite of sausage on a stick...it was a totally sweet home alabama kinda weekend. Now i'm in austin visiting kim and manda and bumming....update to come later!

Bottom Line: I forgot how much I love being with my sistas in Arizona and I had a great time being a country bumpkin and riding horses...oh and im quitting grad school :)
