Sunday 10/16 So I’m on the airplane coming back from visiting my alma mater (sp??)…Embry-Riddle (thur-sun). It was way fun – I saw a bunch of sisters and a crazy number of alumns. I totally miss them and all the fun we had. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard as I do with them – crazy! Oh and I got to see my prof and her 2 cute boys I used to babysit. They’re huge now! It’s funny cuz I feel like my journey with ERAU isn’t complete yet…like it still feels like home and I’ve been away for 1.5 years. Who knows – I may end up back there! Oh, and I’m working on my thesis and I think it may be done …. Officially…..about to turn it into the university. AHHH! Ok so here are the entries I had intended to write, if I had the time the last few weeks:

Wed 10/12 Random thought I had the other day: Have you ever noticed how some people aren’t ‘built’ to walk….like they look awkward when they are moving. I was walking behind this one lady and every step just seemed to be work……then other people come smoothly strolling by, all graceful and everything.

Mon 10/10 So I realized since I got Sampson my carpets have gotten really dirty, so I rented a carpet shampooer today. Well I had a crazy long day (teleconference with the Air Force funding my project and a presentation about a whole bunch of stuff) and was just exhausted but planning to wake up early the next morning to do the carpets (the rental was 24 hrs). Well I got home and was like…my, the carpet looks good….maybe I don’t have to do them, huh…wait….Lindsey cleaned them! I was soooo appreciative. I’ve really enjoyed having her stay with me and we’ve been having lots of fun and relaxing a lot, but this was the first huge thing she did for me. I wanted to cry I appreciated it so much….I think she got sick of me thanking her. I’m definitely going to miss her next semester when she goes back to evil Corpus Christi.

Sat 10/8 Linds, Brette, and her boyfriend and I went to Messina Hof wine tasting tour today. It was way fun and only $5! We got to taste like 5 different wines, and they taught us how you’re supposed to smell/drink white and red wines. It was way neat! I learned I like port wine…which I found out is more alcoholic than scotch….oh and it’s like $30 a bottle…ouch! I guess I won’t be indulging that pleasure for a few years. It’s cool though cuz Brette is becoming a really good friend – we hang out like all the time and she’s in charge of the business side of AggieSat (my job)…so we have to work together all the time anyway. She may even get a job in the aero dept when she graduates in may (she’s a business major and would do HR kinda stuff for aero)…crazy!

Fri 10/7 I got a 100% on my partial differential equations midterm! I haven’t got a full 100 since like calculus in undergrad! Yeah!

Thur 10/6 I come home to relax this evening because I’ve been crazy busy since the semester started, and Linds’ waterbed popped….no kidding. It was horrible! Linds was at class so I sat there and mopped up buckets and buckets from her carpet….it was really kind of funny but so so tiring! You would not believe how many gallons of water a single mattress holds. She she’s staying in my room until we fix it (update: 10/16….still not fixed….sharing a room is going super!).

Wed 10/5 This semester is hell! My final revision of the thesis (notice I separate it from me…it’s not MY thesis…it’s THE thesis) is due Oct 21st. I still need to redo it with my dad and advisor’s comments from the defense. Meanwhile being program manager of the satellite Aggiesat1 has been really a blast. I’m learning a lot about other systems (communications, electrical systems, etc) and a lot about management. I do enjoy it, but I find I have to be more harsh….currently I’m like ‘I’m really disappointed you didn’t turn your paper in on time’ but I have to move to the boss-like frame of mind ‘go to your room until your report is done!’ or ‘you’re grounded!’….no really I’m finding it hard to find a happy medium where I treat them like adults but adequate ‘punishment’. Oh and classes have been going well.  I’ve just been busy. Here’s the times I’m normally at school working:

       Monday 10am-9pm

       Tuesday 11am-6pm

       Wednesday 10am-7pm

       Thursday 11am-8pm

       Friday 10am-6pm

For some reason, lately I’ve been here way more though….I think homeworks/midterms/documents for the air force/defense/thesis/etc
